The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo as the Acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
The appointment, as outlined in a formal letter dated January 22, 2025, takes immediate effect.
In the letter signed by Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President, the decision was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 67 of the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721).
The appointment is, however, subject to advice from the governing board of the Gaming Commission in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment,” the letter reads.
The President, through his secretary, further requested Quainoo to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of the appointment within fourteen days.
The letter was also copied to key government officials, including the Vice President, the Chief of Staff, the Minister for the Interior, the Chairperson of the Public Services Commission, and the Board Chairman of the Gaming Commission.
