The Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into the damage caused to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s statue in the Western Region.
MyNewsGh.com reported earlier that as of Monday, December 16, 2024, parts of the statue that generated several conversations on social media had been vandalized by unknown persons.
The police, in a statement, say its preliminary investigation reveals that the left leg of the statue has been vandalized with the plaque on the statue removed.
They indicated that efforts are underway to arrest individuals behind the attack to bring them to book.
The President’s statue located at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital received negative reviews considering the fact that it was erected on an uncompleted road and the fact that the New Patriotic Party government under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not fulfill its promises to the people of the Western Region.
