NPP promises over the years have been anchored on lies – Fiifi Kwetey

General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Kwetey has indicated that the governing New Patriotic Party’s promises that brought them to power was anchored on lies.

He says the political party knew that they did not have the capacity to deliver but promised the people of Ghana just to get power.

Fiifi Kwetey was speaking at the Manifesto launch in Winneba when he made this known.

He said, “When you say one village one dam and you know you do not have the capacity that is deception”.

Adding to that, their promise to transform Ghana in 18 months and turn the country from a taxation-based to a production economy were lies they knew they could not fulfil when they were given power.

Fiifi Kwetey noted that what’s even worrying is the fact that they inherited a robust economy but destroyed it and turned around to blame the NDC for leaving behind an ailing economy.

Just like they have done over the years, the General Secretary indicated that they will not make promises they cannot fulfil.

“Our policies are anchored on principles, the principle of respect for the people. We left behind a manufacturing sector that was wrong, two oil fields, a strong cocoa sector.”
