A 23-year-old Ghanaian, Alfred Okyere, has reportedly been killed by a co-worker in Saskatoon, Canada.
Okyere, an international student, arrived in Saskatoon four months ago with aspirations of building a better future.
According to a report by MSN.com, he recently took a part-time job at DSI Underground Canada, a mining supply company located in the city’s north industrial area.
Okyere was fatally stabbed by a colleague on Monday night.
In a news release, police confirmed being called to the facility at 8 p.m. CST.
“Upon arrival, Police located a 23-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds,” the release stated. “He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”
The suspect, 53-year-old Troy Francis Leclair, appeared in provincial court on Wednesday morning and has been charged with first-degree murder.
