Operations of ORAL Team reminiscent of the coup era – Freddie Blay

Former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has questioned the mandate of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

He is of the view that their operation is reminiscent of the coup era.

Freddie Blay believes that the committee is more populist and thinks they can go around and do anything they want.

Mr Blay who was asked if he had been invited by the committee, said, “Nobody has invited me but they shouldn’t go round and make it look as if it’s personalized witch-hunting and going to people’s houses.

Someone among them said that it is a question of naming and shaming them, and I think that is populist. It is reminiscent of the coup era that they’ve taken over, and therefore they can go around and do whatever it is. Fortunately, they’ve ben reminded that no, you can’t do that,” he said.

John Dramani Mahama, in line with his promise to fight corruption, put together a team to receive information on corruption-related activities.

The team led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has vowed to deal with persons who capture state property.
