Kofi Adams calls for proper governance structures in Ghana football

Sports and Recreation Minister-designate, Kofi Adams, has underscored the importance of proper governance structures in football administration, insisting that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) must not bypass the National Sports Authority (NSA) when engaging with the Sports Ministry.In an interview on Sporty FM, Adams highlighted the need for checks and balances to ensure effective oversight in the management of football in Ghana.“The GFA should never jump the NSA to deal directly with the Sports Ministry. There must be proper checks and balances,” he stated.Reflecting on the country’s football governance history, Adams recalled a time when the government played a more direct role in the administration of the sport before Kwesi Nyantakyi’s tenure as GFA President.“Before Kwesi Nyantakyi [became GFA President], the government had a hand in running our football.
