Comparing Bawumia to Mahama is Like ‘Johnnie Walker and Akpeteshi’-Atubiga

Stephen Atubiga, a former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to refrain from comparing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama, emphasizing that the two individuals are fundamentally different.

In a video shared online, Atubiga was seen campaigning for Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), on an NPP platform. He described Dr. Bawumia as a “blessing” to the country, praising his contributions to Ghana’s development.

“At the moment you compare NAPO’s experience in politics, his fingerprints all over the country, and what he has done for this nation, to the running mate of my former party, it’s like comparing Johnnie Walker and Akpeteshi,” Atubiga stated.

He went on to explain that his decision to support Dr. Bawumia and NAPO is rooted in his belief in their vision for the future of Ghana. Atubiga stressed that the privilege of serving as president or vice president is earned through significant achievements.

Additionally, he emphasized that Dr. Bawumia represents the interests of all Northerners, regardless of their ethnic or physical backgrounds, underlining his inclusivity and leadership qualities.
