Oliver Barker-Vormawor faces Appointments Committee today over bribe allegation

Youth Activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor will face Parliament’s Appointments Committee today, January 29, 2025.

He is expected to substantiate his claims that Appointment Committee members are taking money from John Dramani Mahama’s appointmentees before approving them.

Per the letter inviting him, Oliver Barker-Vormawor is expected in Parliament at exactly 10 am in the Committee Room 1&2 Administration block.

It will be remembered that the Minority in Parliament decided against vetting Dr Omane Boamah unless the claims made by Barker-Vormawor were substantiated.

However, after hours of deliberations, they decided to join in the vetting of the Defence Minister-Designate.

Oliver Barkr-Vormawor made these allegations via his social media on January 24, 2025, and after he was called out and invited by Parliament, he accepted the challenge, indicating that it would help Ghana’s democracy.

“So all the monies the ministerial appointees are being asked to pay to the Appointments Committee just to get approved, are those ones not affected by ORAL? Strange Republic,” his post read.
