The political landscape in Ghana has seen its fair share of spiritual predictions, but few have been as controversial or widely discussed as those made by Rev. Owusu Bempah, Founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International.

A respected and influential figure, Rev. Bempah has long been associated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), making his recent prophetic declarations about former President John Dramani Mahama particularly intriguing.

In a throwback video that recently resurfaced online, Rev. Bempah made a bold claim during an interview with Paul Adom-Otchere on Good Evening Ghana.

He confidently stated that Mahama, who was then seeking re-election as President of Ghana, would never return to power. Drawing biblical parallels, Rev. Bempah compared Mahama’s political journey to the story of Saul, the first king of Israel, whom God rejected. “John Dramani Mahama can never be President again,” Rev. Bempah emphatically said. “If they bring him again in 2024, he will still lose the election… Mahama can never be president again, read my lips!”

Rev. Bempah further explained that his prophecy was not born out of any ill will towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC). “This is not because I hate the NDC,” he remarked, emphasizing that he had even foreseen the untimely death of former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, which gave his words credibility.

At the time, he was certain that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s victory was divinely assured, noting that he had seen visions where Mahama’s seat was among those of ex-presidents, signalling his political career was over.

However, the narrative recently took a dramatic turn when Rev. Owusu Bempah made a startling prophecy. Following a meeting between John Mahama and prominent religious leaders in Accra, the pastor proclaimed Mahama as the clear victor in the upcoming elections.

According to the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries, during the prayers, he received a message from God affirming Mahama’s victory. “Due to this man’s (Mahama) good heart,

He (God) has given him this country again,” Rev. Bempah declared with confidence, insisting that nothing could now stand in the way of Mahama’s success in the December polls. “Nothing can stop it,” he added.

The stark contrast between Rev. Bempah’s earlier declarations and his current stance has left many Ghanaians puzzled.

The once adamant assertion that Mahama’s political career was over now stands in stark contrast to his latest prophecy, which foresees a return to power for the former president.
