Lack of goals in Ghana Premier League needs research – Faisal Chibsah

FIFA High-Performance specialist Abdul Faisal Chibsah has emphasized the need for research into the Ghana Premier League’s low goals record.

The former Ghana International has noted that many shots are taken from distances outside the box, suggesting a potential problem with player positioning or strategy.

“For many years., it has been a low-scoring league. Why is this How do we know? This is where research comes in.- he told Sporty FM.

“So how many of your games are we researching from year to year to understand why we are not creating more chances?

I know for a fact that many opportunities that come in the game come outside the box. A lot of our players tend to take shots from 50 – 60 yards, somewhat unnecessary.”

So how many of these are we researching from year to year to understand what the problem is, and how then can we take that into our coach education program, or to support the coaches, right?”

Faisal stresses the importance of research and education in addressing these issues, advocating for tailored solutions rather than generic trends.

“We can tackle this problem, and this is where research and education becomes important. If we are not doing that, then clearly we are not trying to solve the problem.

“The problem has been there for many, many years we need to understand all this to be able to come up with the best education program that solves our problem”.
