I’m frustrated with the industry-Shatta Wale responds to Black Sherif clash

Shatta Wale is no stranger to controversy. Whether it’s a feud with fellow artists or a headline-grabbing social media post, the artist’s larger-than-life persona has often found itself in the middle of drama.

The most recent clash that caught the public’s attention was his exchange with Black Sherif, the fast-rising star whose recent success has made waves across Africa.

In an interview with Ike De Unpredictable on Angel FM, Shatta Wale was questioned about his post on social media where he hinted at the possibility of Black Sherif’s career crashing.

This was in response to a statement made by the Second Sermon hitmaker about his status in the Ghanaian music scene.

Shatta’s words had sparked widespread debate, with many wondering if the veteran artist was genuinely trying to undermine Sherif’s career.

“I didn’t mean to say his career should end,” Shatta Wale explained during the interview. “But I’m just frustrated with how some people in this industry are always trying to pit me against other artists.”

The dancehall sensation went on to highlight how this has been a recurring theme in his career. “They did the same thing with Samini, Yaa Pono, Stonebwoy, and now Black Sherif,” Wale said, frustration evident in his tone.

“Every time there’s a new hot artist, they throw my name in the mix, trying to stir up conflict for no reason. All these things have caused damage to my brand.”

For Shatta Wale, it’s not just about the music. It’s about the narrative that’s been built around him. “I’m not the one starting these beefs.

They just want to make it seem like I’m always in a battle with someone, and it’s been happening for years,” he continued. “Look, I’ve always come out on top. I’ve dealt with it with every other artist, and I’m sure I’ll continue to rise above it.”

Despite the tension, Wale didn’t outright confirm that he was targeting Black Sherif specifically. He left it unclear whether his comments were part of a larger strategy or just a reaction to what he perceives as constant industry manipulation.
