The Electoral Commission (EC) has clarified that no political party raised concerns regarding serialisation issues in the ballot papers for Ahafo and Volta regions.
The Commission explained that the serialisation challenges were first identified by the EC team stationed at the printing house and later confirmed by the EC’s Audit Department.
In response to speculation, the EC emphasized that no political party, whether formally or informally, notified the Commission about the serialisation problems, even though party agents were present during the process.
“The decision to reprint the ballot papers for Ahafo and Volta was based solely on from the EC Team at the Printing House and confirmed by its Audit Department,” the Commission stated.
The clarification follows discussions surrounding the reprinting of ballot papers for the upcoming election, with some questioning if the decision was influenced by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The EC reiterated that its actions were based on internal reports and not external party influence.
