Dumelo provides the surest way to reduce importation of Frozen Chicken to Ghana

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wugon, John Dumelo has provided ideas on how the country can end the importation of frozen chicken.

He argues that Ghanaians will have to demand made-in-Ghana chicken.

As the demand for made-in-Ghana chicken increases, he is of the firm view that it will have a trickling effect on farmers who grow maize.

Making this position known in a post shared via social media, John Dumelo said “Imagine 1,000,000 Ghanaians consuming our made in Ghana chicken monthly. That’s an average of 1000 small scale farms producing 1000 birds per month.

The demand for our made in Ghana chicken will also encourage maize farmers to cultivate more to supply the poultry farms and eventually reduce the import of frozen chicken. Have you purchased your made in Ghana chicken today? We can make this work. It’s achievable. #idey4u“.

President John Dramani Mahama’s government has promised to focus on providing jobs for the youth of Ghana with a focus on agriculture.

The government intends encouraging the youth to go into agriculture as a means of creating employment.
