Destinie Diaz, Kissimmee Woman Tragically Killed in Car Accident On Interstate 4 In Orlando

Friends and former classmates have named the deceased 25-year-old Kissimmee woman as Destinie Diaz. She was killed in a car accident on Interstate 4 in Orlando.

When Diaz collided with a pickup vehicle on I-4 westbound close to mile marker 72, she died at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Orange County.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Diaz was traveling on Sand Lake Road when her Hyundai Elantra impacted the left rear of an empty pickup truck while traveling through an active construction lane closure.

Her automobile spun around in the incident and smashed into the pickup. Diaz was declared dead at the scene after being partially thrown out of the car while without wearing a seat belt.

Although friends on social media revealed details of the collision and identified Destinie Diaz as the tragic driver of the Hyundai, authorities did not formally identify the victim.

Diaz attended Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida, and graduated. Her former high school classmates also rushed to social media to mourn her.

One former OHS classmate noted in a reminiscing post that despite their differences, all former students of the school maintained a special kinship and that the news of Diaz’s passing struck them deeply.

“One thing about OHS is that we truly were like one big family, united despite our different races, backgrounds, and cultures. It was a place where diversity was celebrated, and everyone looked out for one another. We shared not just academic experiences but also life lessons, laughter, and support. That sense of belonging, regardless of where we came from, made OHS a unique and unforgettable place. Kowboys4Life ???????? rest in peace classmate????” Essence Wiggins wrote.
