2024 U-20 Women's World Cup: We are match-ready, says Black Princesses coach ahead of opener against Austria

Black Princesses coach, Yusif Basigi says his players are match ready for the U-20 Women's World Cup. Ghana's U-20 female national team will open their campaign against Austria later tonight at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo with kick-off scheduled at 22:00GMT.The team played a goalless game against Mexico before a 2-2 drawn game against South Korea in their final preparatory game.Ahead of their opener, Basigi says his side is ready for the tournament."The players are match-ready because this is what they have been waiting for and the time has come," Basigi told the Ghana FA website."Looking at the enthusiasm amongst the technical staff, they are also ready because the players are looking up to us and we must be match-ready since they look up to us and if we are not match-ready, it affects the players," he added.The Black Princesses will also play Japan and New Zealand in Group E. The team is targeting qualifying from their group phase for the first time despite making six consecutive appearances.
