Mahama won’t award huge contracts to his family members- Philemon Laar shades Akufo-Addo

A communication team member of the  National Democratic Congress (NDC), Philemon Laar has jabbed Nana Akufo-Addo for reportedly awarding juicy contracts to his family members.

During a panel discussions on TV3’s NewDay monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Philemon Laar said that when John Mahama takes over the presidency in 2025, there will be a reset and also make sure that justice is served

“On the issue of corruption, President Mahama will not award his children 34 million dollar contracts. He won’t do that. Unlike President Akufo-Addo who is dishing out contracts to his family and friends. It will not happen” Philemon Laar boldly stated.

It would be recalled a few months ago, The Herald, disclosed that it obtained a report revealing President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, awarded a significant state contract to associates of his two daughters, including the father of his grandchild, raising concerns about nepotism.

The report claimed the Thirty-Four Million, Nine Hundred and Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Five Dollars (US$34,904,505.00) ambulance spare parts deal for the 307 Mercedes Benz buses to Service Ghana Auto Group Limited partly owned by Stephen Okoro and Alvin Mensa, who are connected to the President’s daughters, Gyakroma Akufo-Addo and Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo, as lovers, friends and business partners.

Stephen Okoro, who was identified as the father of Gyakroma’s daughter and a business partner in companies was linked to the President’s family, including Edwina, the last daughter of the President, and daughter-in-law of Maxwell Kofi Jumah, all enjoyed the cut of the contract from the president.
