13 Candidates Cleared for 2024 Presidential Elections
The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially cleared 13 candidates to contest in the 2024 presidential elections after a comprehensive review of their nomination forms. The forms, submitted between 9th and 13th September 2024, underwent thorough scrutiny to ensure all candidates met the required criteria.
Among the 13 approved candidates, nine are representing political parties, while four will be running as independent candidates. This development comes after initial reports indicated that 36 individuals had expressed interest by picking up nomination forms to run for the highest office in the country. However, not all of them followed through by filing their nominations.
The EC has scheduled the official balloting process for today, 20th September 2024. This exercise will determine the positioning of candidates on the ballot paper for the highly anticipated election.
The 2024 presidential election promises to be a hotly contested race, with candidates from across the political spectrum vying for the trust and votes of the Ghanaian people.
