Wycombe re-sign English Ghanaian winger Gideon Kodua on season-long loan

Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the return of 19-year-old English-born Ghanaian winger Gideon Kodua to Adams Park on a season-long loan from West Ham United.Kodua previously spent the latter half of last season on loan with the Chairboys, making 10 appearances. He initially caught the attention of Wycombe fans after scoring against the club while representing West Ham's under-21 side in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy in January.Kodua joined West Ham in 2017 and captained their under-18s to FA Youth Cup success in the 2022/23 season, where he scored a spectacular goal in the final against Arsenal. His impressive performances earned him his first professional contract that summer, along with the prestigious Dylan Tombides Award, which honors the club’s top scholar.Before his loan to Wycombe last season, Kodua netted seven goals in 17 appearances for West Ham’s under-21 team, including one against Wycombe in the EFL Trophy. His return to Wycombe is pending approval from the EFL and FA.
