Wigan secures Ghanaian forward Maleace Asamoah until 2027
Wigan has bolstered their attacking options with the signing of English-born Ghanaian forward Maleace Asamoah from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.The deal, announced on Friday, August 30, 2024, is subject to EFL and FA approval, with Asamoah committing to a three-year contract at the Brick Community Stadium.The 21-year-old began his career at Reading's Academy before stints in Greece with Kalamata and Olympiacos Volos. He then joined non-league side New Salamis FC, where his impressive form attracted attention from several clubs. Asamoah signed for Fleetwood Town in 2023, making his professional debut against Carlisle United and featuring in eight more games before a successful loan spell at Waterford in the League of Ireland.During his time at Waterford, Asamoah scored six goals and provided four assists in 17 appearances, becoming a fan favorite.
