Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has told nominees appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee not to come to vetting with their families and sympathizers.

According to him, the vetting will now take place in the speaker’s conference room, which cannot accommodate a huge number of people.

He made this known while announcing that vetting will continue today, January 31, 2025, after the chaos that saw destruction to some tables and microphones on January 30, 2025.

The change of venue was necessitated by the chaos that erupted on January 30 between the Majority and Minority led to the destruction of microphones and tables used for the vetting process.

“Because the machines are not working, they’ve been destroyed; we look into that matter. So we are adjourning to tomorrow at 9 am at the speaker’s conference room,” he said

Adding that “We are cautioning the nominees; the speaker’s conference room is small, there isn’t enough space in the speaker’s conference room so please, nominees don’t bring people because there is no space in the speaker’s conference room to accommodate the people this room can accommodate,” he said.
