After reports of three groups mining in the Tano Anwia Forest reserve, two of the groups have left the forest reserve.
This is according to Erastus Asare Donkor who is a leading voice in the fight against illegal mining.
He explains that one of the groups that were mining in the area are still on the expedition.
Adding that they are mining with three excavators.
His post shared via social media read “Galamsey Update: Tano Anwia Forest reserve: Two of the groups have abandoned thier mining expedition in the forest. One is still active with three excavators found on site. Stay tuned for more”.
Erastus had earlier reported that “As we speak, three groups sanctioned by elements in the new government are still inside the Tano Anwia forest reserve mining illegally d further degrading the forest. This impunity must not be allowed to fester!! This pic was taken this morning”.
