Director of Elections and IT for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Omane Boamah has assured staff of the Electoral Commission of prioritizing them when the NDC comes back to power.
He explains that since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took power, the managers of the Electoral Commission and the government have not prioritized workers at the Commission.
But that to him will not happen under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, as he intends to ensure that they are well taken care of.
Making this known in a post shared via social media, Dr Omane Boamah said, “EC Staff: The neglect you’ve endured from the Commission and the NPP government must end on December 7

We are wishing the Electoral Commission Ghana fruitful deliberations in advance of their crucial meeting tomorrow with District Electoral Officers, Assistant Electoral Officers, Returning Officers and Deputy Returning Officers and their bosses.
We pray for journey mercy as you all travel from far and near to converge at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium (UPSA), the very venue President John Dramani Mahama has often been speaking to the nation from, since 2020.
EC staff, be assured that we appreciate your commitment to strengthening Ghana’s democracy even as SOME of your leaders at the headquarters of the Commission keep failing you and the nation.
Your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will be a critical item on President Mahama’s priority list from January 2025.
Relatedly, your Tier 2 pension, fuel and risk allowance will all be thoroughly attended to. The neglect you and millions of suffering Ghanaians have endured from the Commission and this government must end on December 7. Ghanaians cannot wait…
President Mahama will support you to reform the Commission in order to restore its once treasured dignity as a bastion of transparent, free and fair elections in Africa.
We urge you to stay committed to Constitutional Instrument 127 (C.I.127) as we move speedily towards the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
