The arrogance brought us down – Duanab Wuni reflects on NPP’s loss

Thomas Duanab Wuni Pearson, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Talensi, has weighed in on the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s disappointing performance in the recent general elections, attributing the loss to a shift in the political climate and the effectiveness of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s propaganda.

Speaking in a candid interview with A1 Radio, Pearson reflected on the party’s campaign strategies and the mood of the electorate.

“It wasn’t about resources; it was just that the time had come for Ghanaians to want a change,” he said. “The NDC’s propaganda resonated with voters, while the arrogance, as far as we are concerned, brought us down.”

Pearson’s remarks shed light on the deep frustration felt by many within the NPP following their electoral defeat.

Despite a vigorous campaign and significant resources put into the election, the party failed to secure the confidence of a growing number of voters who felt it was time for a change.

According to Pearson, the NDC’s messaging, which capitalized on the desire for something different, struck a chord with the electorate, while the NPP’s perceived arrogance alienated potential supporters.

“The NPP failed to connect with the people,” Pearson continued.
