Sammy Gyamfi sues Asaase Radio, three others for defamation; demands Ghc 10,000,000

The Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has sued two media houses and two media personalities for defaming him.

The media houses are Asaase Radio, www.myabclive.com, Wiberforce Asare who works for Asaase Radio and Michael Afriyie who works for Abc News.

According to him, the news story of him splurging party funds in Miami with his spouse has hurt his personality and has injured his integrity as a leader.

The Communications Director is suing these entities for false publication meant to tarnish his image and is expecting Ghc 10,000,000 in damages paid as a result.

He is also seeking a retraction and an apology on the frontpages of the Daily Graphic Newspaper for 3 days.

Announcing the suit, Sammy Gyamfi in a post on social media said “As I indicated earlier today on @adomtv_Gh I have this afternoon filed a defamation suit against Asaase Radio, ABCNEWS, Wilberforce Asare and one Michael Afriyie over their false publications about my person. Looking forward to the defendants entering appearance upon service, filing their defence, joining issues and proving their claims in Court”.
