Musician, Sista Afia has expressed worry over how Ghanaian female musicians are treated.
According to her, they have a hard time relating with men, especially in the industry, because the next minute people will think they are dating them.
She says as a result of this, female artistes find difficulty being mentored and provided with the opportunities their male colleagues are open to.
Sista Afia was speaking on Accra-based Neat FM in an interview when she made this known.
“Maybe it’s because I am a woman, I can’t mingle with a man for long. The moment I mingle with a man, rumours start flying that I have an affair with him,” she said.
“We can’t even have godfathers or male mentors. The moment we get one, rumours come out that the person is a sugar daddy,” she added.
