Professor Kenneth Attafuah replies to Colonel Peter Kwame Ghansah farewell letter

I thank you Colonel Peter Kwame Ghansah most sincerely for your kind and thoughtful farewell message to me and the entire NIA Family. Candid and beautifully written, it chronicles the major milestones we have collectively chalked in our steadfast effort to build for our dear country a comprehensive, holistic, and robust National Identification System that will promote integrity in identity management and constitute the cornerstone of the nation’s digitalization agenda.

I’m deeply grateful for your highly meritorious service as Head of Operations, and particularly for the discipline you cooperated with me to instill in the NIA workforce, especially during the mass registration phase of our work.

You were an effective team player and a results-oriented public servant; your regularity and punctuality at Management and various committee meetings, as well as your cogent and thoughtful contributions to discussions, were refreshing reminders of what discipline, community, participation, and relevance are all about.

No wonder you ably handled the additional portfolios I requested you to oversee in the Training and Corporate Affairs Directorates when the exigencies of the situation demanded. And you ably rose to the occasion, Colonel.

Even to your very last day, you served with dedication and distinction, like the good soldier that you are: your leadership in organizing the stakeholder engagement on the registration of Ghanaians aged 6 – 14 years old is greatly appreciated. Colonel, with a heart full of gratitude, I doff my hat to you. And I wish you God’s speed.

The writer is Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, Esq. Executive Secretary, National Identification Authority
