Former Hohoe MP Bernice Adiku Heloo passes away

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Hohoe Constituency of the Volta Region has announced the demise of Bernice Adiku Heloo, a former Member of Parliament (MP) of the Constituency.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, 25 December, following a brief illness.

From 7 January 2013, through 6 January 2021, Heloo represented the Hohoe Constituency as an MP in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic.

She was also the founder of the Ghanaian NGO Prolink and a former president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa.

The Volta Region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in mourning following her passing. While regional executives have confirmed the news, an official statement is yet to be released.
