Police at Tumu in the Sissala West District of the Upper East Region have commenced investigations into the deadly road crash that claimed the life of the Principal of Tumu College of Education, Professor Abdul-Mumin Salenwiah.
The Educationist earlier this week died on the spot when his official Nissan Navara Pick-up truck with registration number GV-27-16 collided with a tipper truck also registered GT-485-24 at Bassisan and the Sissili bridge on the Tumu- Bolgatanga Highway.
Details of what caused the accident remain sketchy according to the police in the area who confirmed the unfortunate passing of Professor Abdul-Mumin Salenwiah to MyNewsGh.com.
They indicated that the vehicle in which the Principal was after the collision was completely mangled in view of the impact. It took a combined team of officials from the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance to rescue the victim from the carnage
Meanwhile, the deceased by virtue of the fact he is a Muslim has since been buried in accordance with the Islamic custom at Navrongo in the Upper East Region while police continue with their investigations.
