Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has met with South Korea’s ambassador to Ghana, Mr Park Kyongsig.
At the meeting, the former president, who doubles as the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), thanked South Korea for writing off Ghana’s debt to the country in the midst of an economic crisis crippling the country.
The former President also used the opportunity to let the South Korean Ambassador know about his plans to establish rice mills at various centres for processing and set up Farmer Service Centres to provide agricultural equipment and support.
John Dramani Mahama lauded the efforts of South Korea in providing support for the sustainable development of the West African country, indicating that he is particularly grateful for the supply of water to the northern parts of the country, particularly Tamale and Yendi.
On his part, Ambassador Park updated Mr Mahama on his country’s investments and bilateral agreements with Ghana, including a $2 billion framework arrangement. The agreement encompasses sectors like healthcare, education, environment, and agriculture.
