President Akufo-Addo’s statue in Sekondi-Takoradi vandalised

The statue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which stands in front of the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region, has a noticeable hole on the back of one leg.

Residents of Takoradi had previously threatened to have the statue taken down, and it looks as though they have partially succeeded, as a portion of the statue is now damaged.

It is still unknown if the damage was the consequence of a structural problem, deliberate actions by those opposed to the statue, or both.

The statue was unveiled by President Akufo-Addo at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital during his regional tour ahead of the general elections.
