Gospel musician Perpetual Didier has voiced her disappointment with fellow industry members who failed to attend her brother Shadrach’s funeral.
Speaking with Fiifi Praat on Kingdom FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Perpetual revealed that aside from Dave Joy, no other gospel musician came to support her during the final rites for her brother, who tragically died from alleged police brutality at West Hills Mall on January 30, just days before his scheduled departure to Germany.
Pepertual shared that the absence of her colleagues left her feeling abandoned and stirred thoughts of why she had been left to mourn in isolation.
“I was left in the cold,” she expressed, recounting the emotional toll of their absence.
Previously, in the wake of her brother’s death, Perpetual had publicly called for justice.
She explained that her efforts to seek accountability were met with limited support from authorities.
“I fought for justice for my brother but the authorities did not give me enough support,” she said, adding that a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee, where conflicting evidence between her family and the police was presented, left her feeling further disillusioned with the process.
Dave Joy is a Ghanaian music producer, sound engineer, and artist manager.
He is known for his involvement in the gospel music industry and has worked with several prominent gospel artists.
Dave Joy is also recognized for his connection to gospel musician Joyce Blessing, as her former manager and husband.
Their relationship, both professional and personal, became a topic of public attention following their separation.
Despite this, Dave Joy has remained active in the industry, contributing to the production and promotion of gospel music in Ghana.
