NPP faithful throng Bawumia’s residence to encourage him and pledge support

Hundreds of New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful have been visiting Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and presidential candidate of the NPP in the just-ended 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, at his official residence to pledge their support and to encourage him after his unsuccessful presidential bid.

Dr Bawumia lost the 2024 general election to Mr John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in an election with the lowest turnout (60.9%) since 2000. Dr Bawumia polled 4,657,304 of the valid votes cast, representing 41%, and John Dramani Mahama secured 6,328,397 valid votes, representing 56.55%.

Addressing his guests when they visited him on Tuesday, 10 December 2024, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia urged all members of the NPP not to indulge in blame games but to unite and be encouraged for the future.

Dr Bawumia, who was speaking to the first group of party members from the Klottey Korle and Ayawaso East constituencies of the Greater Accra Region said the statistical outcome of the 2024 presidential election clearly showed that the NPP gave the victory to the NDC.

Several other visiting parties from the Trobu Na Weija-Gbawe constituencies also took turns to solidariae with the Vice President and the NPP 2024 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The members of the party were in very high spirits as they sang and blew vuvuzela to charge the atmosphere.

Dr Bawumia called of the NPP rank and file to remain optimistic saying he will continue to look up to God because the ways of man are not the ways of God. he added that his faith and trust is in God and he is convinced that all things work together for good for those what believe in God.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, on behalf of the delegation noted that they have confidence in the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and that even though the NPP didn’t get what it wanted out of the 2024 general elections, they “still believe everything is possible.”

“We believe in your policies and we will continue to support you. We are there for you,” Nii Nortey assured Dr Bawumia. Nii Nortey also congratulated Dr Bawumia for what he achieved during the recent elections saying the NDC did not perform better than the NPP “but our party people did not help.”
