Former Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul says he cannot be tagged in any form of State capture claims.
He has said that after eight years in office as Defence Minister, he does not own anything that belongs to the government.
Dominic Nitiwul who was speaking on the floor of Parliament indicated that even during his tenure as Minister, he never used a state apartment.
“I was a minister for eight years, but I don’t have a single government property, I never stayed in a government house, I never did anything illegal, and I’m saying that I will be writing officially to you when your committee is properly constituted,” he stated.
Member of Parliament for the Bimbilla constituency, Dominic Nitiwul, defended why there is a need for Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) to investigate “State Capture” from 2009 to 2016.
According to him, if ORAL was set up to investigate corruption-related matters, it is right that a date and time limit be set up for the committee.
He is of the view that it behoves on the Committee when it is well constituted to deal with all matters brought before it and not just matters about the government that left office.
