GES announces 2025 BECE and WASSCE dates for school candidates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.

In a letter dated 24 January 2025, addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, the GES provided the examination schedules and called for timely preparations. The letter, signed by Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, outlined that the BECE for school candidates will take place from 9–16 June 2025, while the WASSCE will be held from 4 August to 19 September 2025.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will communicate the registration period to school heads in the near future.

Regional Directors of Education have been instructed to ensure that Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education inform heads of basic and senior high schools to adequately prepare candidates.

The GES has urged all stakeholders to take note of the dates and make necessary arrangements to support the students.
