The Ghana Fire Service has announced through its social media that eastern part of the affected structure at the Accra Zongo Lane fire has just collapsed.
However, no firefighters nor civilian casualties were recorded.
The statement further indicated that efforts are underway to fully douse the protracted fire.

A massive fire broke out at Zongo Lane near Rawlings Park, Accra, on Sunday, September 1, 2024, morning at 09:40 hours, engulfing shops and warehouses dealing in home appliances, leather materials, mattresses, and other goods.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly after receiving the distress fire call at 10:06 am, with the first pump from the Ministry Fire Station arriving at 10:16 am.
Ten (10) fire appliances, including a Turntable Ladder and water tanker, are battling the blaze involving multiple shops and warehouses. Despite challenges due to locked shops, warehouses, heavy fuel load closeness of structures, firefighters have successfully confined the fire.
