Some Pro-New Patriotic Party Senior and Junior Staff of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) have started preparing for life in opposition in the company.
Insiders say this development is a vote of no confidence in the incumbent Akufo-Addo—Bawumia administration and the Bawumia—Napo ticket ahead of the crucial 2024 election in the next few months.
The staff whose full list MyNewsGh.com has obtained with evidence and will publish subsequently are making monthly fuel coupon contribution to support the opposition National Democratic Congress through some top officials in the NDC linked to the office of former President John Mahama.
The BOST staff who are given monthly fuel coupon allocations by the company in turn also organize and give part of the coupons to the office of John Mahama.
It is not clear whether John Mahama himself is aware of the development but his Staffers are said to be coordinating the NPP political fuel coupon donation by the NPP Staff.
The BOST NPP Staff are reportedly being told Mahama has kept their names for the future and will reward them for supporting him.
These NPP Staff of the state-owned BOST have reportedly been making this fuel coupon contribution to the opposition with the hope of being protected against victimizations such as transfers, dismissals, secondments, criminal investigations, interdiction among other acts they fear.
Credible sources told this portal the group of NPP Staff meet at the Fiesta Royale Hotel just around the place where the former BOST Head office used to be located to organize the fuel.
Some of the NPP Staff are also making the contribution so that their General Manager positions will not be taken away from them in the event power changes hands. Others are also praying to be promoted to General Manager positions under the NDC.
There is disquiet tension in the embattled state company that has struggled under various leadership since the NPP came to power in 2017.
