Bolga East: NPP’s PC is in to ‘scam’ you – Dr Ayine tells constituents

Longstanding National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, who is seeking the mandate of his constituents again, has accused his arch-rival in the parliamentary race, Mathew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of casting himself as a philanthropist who wants to better meet the needs of the people as MP when indeed he does not care about the people.

He accused him of using fraudulent tactics in his attempt to win their trust so that they vote for him come December 7, 2024.

Dr. Ayine made these comments in a speech after he had filed his nomination forms to contest the 2024 parliamentary elections.

He debunked assertions that he easily gets angry and vents needlessly, explaining that he has righteous anger.

“Things are happening in this constituency. And I keep quiet over them. Many of you hear them say the MP is temperamental. But I don’t get angry for nothing. I have, what we call, righteous anger.

 When there is nonsense taking place, I don’t mind who is involved, I will tell you to your face. The person that the NPP has chosen is trying to scam the people of this constituency. He will go and sit on the radio and talk about how he helps people but when people go to his house, he will desert them and run to Tamale. So, is this person you want to vote for?” He quizzed.

The Bolgatanga East Constituency, created in 2012, is traditionally a stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr Ayine has been the Constituency’s legislator since its creation. Now though he faces tough competition from Mathew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who has done well in building a firm support base for himself.
