Akufo-Addo appoints Michael Asare Bediako as boss of Millennium Development Authority

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Michael Asare Bediako as the chief executive officer of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), in accordance with Article 195 (1) of the constitution and Section 15 (2) of the Millennium Development Authority Act 2006 (Act 702),

The appointment was announced in a letter dated 12 September 2024, signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, and copied to the vice-president, the Chief of Staff, Minister for Finance, Minister of Food and Agriculture, Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, chair of the Public Service Commission and the chair of the board of the Millennium Development Authority.

“I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Development Authority (‘the Authority’), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” the appointment letter seen by Asaase News says.

“Your appointment is for a period of four years, effective 11 September 2024.

“Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment within 14 days of receipt of this letter.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment. Please accept the President’s best wishes,” the letter says.
