Black Princesses head coach Yussif Basigi has outlined his team's primary objective of advancing past the group stage in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup hosted in Colombia.Ghana's qualification marks their seventh consecutive appearance at this level, placing them among four African nations competing in the tournament.Historically, Ghana has struggled to progress beyond the group stage in their six previous attempts from 2012 to 2022. Basigi, however, remains optimistic about their chances this time around."I know Ghanaians are expecting us to go beyond the group stage, that is a paramount expectation. We also have it in mind," he said in an interview with the Ghana Football Association Media."I was there [in the past] and it didn't work...For now, I would say we have gotten support from the FA and the ministry for our training sessions."So the expectation from Ghanaians is also what we are expecting; to go beyond the group stage before we can think of any other thing."The Black Princesses are in Group E alongside Austria, Japan and New Zealand.Ghana qualified for its seventh successive U20 World Cupand will be one of four countries to represent the African continent.

Ghana's qualification marks their seventh consecutive appearance at this level, placing them among four African nations competing in the tournament.

Historically, Ghana has struggled to progress beyond the group stage in their six previous attempts from 2012 to 2022. Basigi, however, remains optimistic about their chances this time around.

"I know Ghanaians are expecting us to go beyond the group stage, that is a paramount expectation. We also have it in mind," he said in an interview with the Ghana Football Association Media.

"So the expectation from Ghanaians is also what we are expecting; to go beyond the group stage before we can think of any other thing."

The Black Princesses are in Group E alongside Austria, Japan and New Zealand.
