Winter Wonderland held an “Open Day” for sponsors and potential investors on Saturday, the 24th of August as part of the company’s efforts to update stakeholders on the project’s development and to highlight the vision ahead of its grand launch in December this year.
Speaking to Asaase News, the operations manager of Winter Wonderland, Elvis Taabavi emphasised the purpose of the event.
“Today’s open day is actually supposed to bring our sponsors and potential investors to look at what we have been able to achieve in this period and bring them up to speed with the project and the vision we seek in December when we launch. So basically, it is an interaction” Taabavi said.
Touching on the choice of location for the new leisure park at Okponglo, Elvis Taabavi said he is hopeful the location will rake in revenue.
“If you look at our location, Okponglo between the GRA building and Legon main gate, we’re surrounded by IPS, surrounded by the University of Ghana, surrounded by Atraco, Legon-Presec and then Wisconsin at the top. There are a lot of international schools around.”
“Achimota is at the back of Legon anyway; GIMPA is there so you can imagine and then the Legon stadium is almost opposite us. So our footfall, we know, would be huge, especially as an amusement park, We strongly believe that the target market is young people, children.”
“The older generation can come here and relax because we have everything for everyone, a mini golf course, a toboggan run, a ski ring, an ice dome, a picnic area, a whole lot” Taabavi added.
Some investors who passed by to inspect the project indicated that they had confidence in the project and described it as a “profitable venture”.
