It was difficult clearing my name at embassies before I could travel – Medikal on arrest

Ghanaian rapper Medikal he faced difficulties after he was arrested in 2021 for displaying a gun on social media.

The rapper described his arrest on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, saying, “I felt inhumane, it was not right.”

Medikal also disclosed that in order to travel, he had to have his criminal record cleared by embassies, which was a difficult experience.

“My last experience with the police was not a very friendly one. I had to clear my name from embassies before I could travel,” he remarked on 16 December.

Additionally, he clarified that he was not aware that it was illegal to display a registered firearm on social media.

The rapper, who feels he did not commit a crime, expressed disappointment with the way his case was handled and labelled it unfair.

He said, “Brandishing isn’t when you’re home taking a picture of something the police registered and licensed for you themselves“.
