We’ve identified location of Sedinam Attionu Tamaklo; she’ll be extradited soon – Dep. Attorney General

Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, has disclosed that the government has identified the whereabouts of Sedinam Attionu Tamaklo.

Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu has been sentenced to 10 years in prison with hard labour.

However, Sedinam Attionu Tamaklo is currently out of the country and is not serving her jail term.

But speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Sompa FM, Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, disclosed that the government has identified her location and is working with their partners in the United States to get her back in Ghana.

“Sedinam Attionu Tamaklo was the MASLOC boss in the NDC administration. She is known to have been engaged in some form of thievery. I am shocked that a woman could engage in such theft. That is why the Judge who sat on the case said that the Accountant who helped her was jailed for five years.

Sedinam, in the course of the case, sought permission to receive medical care abroad and was granted permission to do that but never returned while the case was ongoing. After she was jailed, people have been asking that what will happen to her. I want to make it known here today that we have identified where Sedinam Tamakloe is.

Before we finished the case, she moved from the United States of America to London and came back to the US. As of now, she cannot travel out of the US. We have filed all our papers and she will be extradited every soon. She wanted to run away from the US but now we monitor her daily movements and after filing all our papers with the American government, we will bring her back to Ghana. Whenever she comes back, her jail term will start from that particular day. Her jail term is a lesson to us who are in public office to work diligently,” he said.

He indicated that the government intends to pursue her case further by confiscating her properties and start persuing persons who sought bail for her to the tune of five million Ghana cedis to pay.
