Thugs have allegedly stormed the collation centre for the recollation of election results for the Ablekuma North Constituency, causing disruptions.
The collation, which was scheduled to resume today at 8am at the old head office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Ridge, Greater Accra, has been halted following the attack.
The thugs damaged several items, including louvre blades, chairs, and other property belonging to the EC.
This marks the seventh attempt by the EC to complete the recollation of the results.
The process, which has faced numerous delays and disagreements, hit a major setback on 8 January when the Returning Officer, Vincent Obeng, resigned amid disputes over the authentication of pink sheets.
Mr. Obeng had earlier told journalists that the collation was nearly complete, with results from four out of the seven remaining polling stations finalised.
However, disagreements over verifying results from three polling stations led to suspending the process for the sixth time.
