This is what Vice President Prof. Naana Jane has been up to after swearing-in

Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has been involved in several activities since becoming Vice President.

Over the weekend, there were calls of her whereabout in the country’s governance system because her predecessor was vibrant and could be seen involved in the thick of affairs.

The Vice President has served as a link between the Ghana government and the various international representations in the country.

She has since received several ambassadors and high commissioners, among others, at her office.

A scan through her social media will tell you that the Vice President has met with several other international bodies, including the African Development Bank, at her office.

Apart from receiving international representatives from countries with representation in Ghana, the Vice President has been meeting some civil society organizations in the country. Prominent among them is the STAR Ghana Foundation, which called on her.

Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has not only received visitors in her office but has also been a Guest at various events happening in the country. She spoke at the SWAG Awards, where sports writers were awarded for their contributions to sports. As Guest Speaker at the 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogues, she highlighted concerns over trade barriers and their impact on Africa’s economic potential and stressed that Africa must address pressing challenges even as the continent touts its achievements.

Apart from the speaking opportunities she has had since being sworn in as Vice President, the professor has been meeting with her colleagues in academia. As someone whose interest is the education sector, she has received the management at the University of Ghana.

Her engagement has seen her make some donations to the Ankaful Maximum Prison in the Central Region. She has also donated to the Ankaful Leprosarium. According to her, this is something she has been doing over the years.
