Opposition to appointments: Stop being petty—Eric Adjei to NDC grassroots

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei has urged party members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop being petty over certain appointments.

There have been concerns raised about the appointments of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Commissioner General and the Director General for the National Communications Authority (NCA).

To the grassroots, these are not known party people and, therefore, should not be given appointments.

But speaking to the issues on Accra-based Asempa FM, Eric Adjei indicated that it’s about time the grassroots stopped being petty.

According to him, not every party person will be seen on radio and television to speak for the political party.

He explained that with political party work, people can be supporting behind the scenes and not be known, but that does not make the non-party members.

“We should stop that. What is this? Can all party members be seen on TV and Radio communicating? We have a mandate to do things differently, we want to generate revenue, and the president thinks that this is the man who can do the job, so why will you sit at home and bus people to go and protest at the GRA office?

This is uncalled for. I will urge the grassroots not to fall for some of these things. People are behind pushing this agenda, and they are using the grassroots. In politics, don’t agree to be used by anyone because it will mean that you cannot be used for anything serious,” he said on Asempa FM in Accra.
