Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa, has told the government that the strike action by Labour unions in the country was avoidable.
He said if the people of Ghana were shown some form of respect, and their demands were met after the #handsoffourhotels demonstration, the country wouldn’t have been where it is today.
He is demanding the immediate resignation of the Employment and Agriculture Minister.
Also, the dissolution of the SSNIT board and that of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority.
His post shared via social media read “Today’s historic nationwide strike by all labour unions would have been avoided but for intransigence, belligerence, lawlessness, utter disrespect for citizens and unbridled taste for state capture.
The board and management of SSNIT and the NPRA should immediately be dissolved!
The Employment Minister and the Agric Minister should subsequently be fired!
Let today’s industrial action serve as an eloquent reminder to all Ghanaian leaders that real power belongs to the people.
You mess with the people at your own peril.
A luta continua, vitória é certa!!!
State Capture shall surely be defeated!
