The Paramount Chief of the Mirigu Traditional Area, Naba Anthony Abisa Anansona Atasige III through the divisional chief of Kumbusingo Naba Dr.Kenneth Ae-Ngibise Asayah has hailed and expressed maximum appreciation to Akuma for Africa and Transformation 108 foundation for bringing development to the area in the area of water and sanitation, agriculture, women empowerment and education.
Naba Dr.Kenneth Ae-Ngibise made these known during the commissioning of a fire service station in Mirigu to help fight fire cases especially bush fires which have adverse effects on agriculture.
Akuma for Africa has played a major role in the rehabilitation of the council office building into the fire service station by providing a portable mechanized water system and some rehabilitation works on the fire service station.
Transformation 108 Foundation and Akuma for Africa who have development and security of Mirigu at heart, also supported the completion of the police station in Mirigu to mitigate crime cases in the traditional area.
Naba Dr.Kenneth Ae-Ngibise Conveyed the messages of hope and appreciation of the paramount chief to all who have a hand in the fire service station establishment.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the government, Philanthropist,NGOs,Kassena/ Nankana West District Assembly, our development partners( Akuma For Africa and Transformation108 Foundation) my friend, Nana Ayebiafo Jnana( NKOSUOHENE of Dumasua Traditional Area) and Miriba to financially support us to complete the Mirigu Police Station building, an initiative started by the good people of Mirigu”, he said.
“I want to use this opportunity to encourage the fire service officers to make good use of this facility with good maintenance and I want to urge residents in this traditional area to cooperate well with the officers to achieve their purpose of being here”, he added.
The Upper East Regional Fire Service commander, DCFO Anthony Gyasi Boateng thanked the paramount chief and the entire residents of Mirigu Traditional Area for their support and the release of a structure for the office of the fire station.
DCFO Anthony Gyasi Boateng outlined the various fire cases in the Upper East Region which is not good and that he is optimistic of the fire cases coming down with the establishment of this fire station especially bush fires which are among the highest fire cases in the region during the dry season.
Other opinion leaders in the community have expressed their satisfaction on the fire service station and want more resources to equip the station further which can attract more officers to stay and work.
