MyNewsGh.com is learning that there was no dissent in the choice of the flagbearer’s running mate.
Our source at the meeting said all members present in unison accepted the flagbearer’s choice on the first mention of his name.
The elders of the party believe that the ticket is excellent and will help the political party break the eight.
Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh is known to be the Minister who implemented the Free SHS policy for the New Patriotic Party in their first term in office.
He is said to have braved the odds that were against the policy and, therefore, he is seen as the best among others to join the political party’s flagbearer.
He is expected to be unveiled in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, on July 9, 2024, after which the political party will continue the next phase of their campaign.
The nomination of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh is believed to help address issues of voter apathy in the stronghold of the NPP.
