Attorney General to meet ORAL Committee on Monday for briefing

Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, will meet with the Operation Recover All Loot team led by Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The meeting is to provide him with the needed briefing on what they have gathered so far concerning the information they have gathered.

He explains that it is the information he will build on to be able to pursue cases after he and his office have gathered evidence to back the information that will be made available to him by the ORAL committee.

“Basically the ORAL Committee and I will be meeting somewhere next week and I will be briefed by them in respect of what have been gathered so far and of course I will take over the information that they have gathered.

Information is different from evidence that can be used in a court of law,” he told the media after he was sworn in.

President John Dramani Mahama, before his inauguration, said he was inundated by information on corruption-related matters.

As a result, he appointed a team of five led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to gather all the information on issues relating to corruption and state capture by the previous government.

The minority in Parliament has since the announcement of the committee described it as illegal and against the laws of Ghana.
