Kurt Okraku urges Black Stars to show patriotism

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has warned the men’s national team against losing love for the country and encouraged a strong sense of patriotism ahead of the doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars face Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday three on Thursday, October 10, before traveling to Libya for the reverse fixture on 15 October.

“You have your family members, your friends, and your loved ones.”- Kurt told the players.

“Ghana should always be a name that will be ringing in your ears all the time. When you’ve given the opportunity to represent Ghana, you should be eager and desirous of going back home to represent your country.”

“Under no circumstance must you lose your love for your country. Come on, guys,
We should be dreaming and thinking about, when is the next time I have to appear in the Ghana color.”

Otto Addo’s side commenced their qualifying campaign with defeat against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium before drawing 1-1 with Niger in Morocco with the two games coming during the September international break.

The performance over the two games drew several criticisms from Ghanaians with Ghana settling for the third spot in Group F after the two games with just one point from a possible six.
